ALL RMS Parents..... The Cherokee Nation Summer Nutrition Program is now accepting applications for the Summer EBT for Children program. This year, parents will need to apply. Just click the link to get started. https://health.cherokee.org/public-health/women-infants-children/sebtc/ The deadline to apply is April 14th, by 5:00 p.m. THIS FEDERALLY FUNDED PROGRAM IS AVAILABLE TO ANYONE; YOU DO NOT HAVE TO BE AMERICAN INDIAN TO QUALIFY. Qualifying families will receive approximately $30 of free food per child per month for May, June and July. Benefits are on an EBT card (works like a debit card) that allows you to purchase healthy food for the summer. Participation in this program will have no impact on other government assistance that you and your child receive. Information provided by you on the data spreadsheet or any records obtained for this program will be kept confidential as required by law and will be used only for this project. Once approved, Summer EBT cards will be mailed to the address provided along with a list of participating stores and a food card (shopping list) that will help you identify approved food items. RMS Parents...... As you are well aware, the backroads and individual driveways continue to be an issue for safe transportation within our district. Honestly, it doesn’t look to improve before the weekend. Plus the morning temperatures will be bitter cold. Rocky Mountain School will be distance learning for Thursday, February 18th and Friday, February 19th. Students should log in and complete lessons assigned for both days. We will return to in-person learning Monday, February 22nd. Stay safe and warm.

5th - 8th parents...... Our school is pleased to partner with the American Indian Resource Center (AIRC) through the Native ACE grant. If your child is Native American, you will be receiving a postcard in the mail with links to the survey. Please let us know what services are important to you and your child. There will be a COVID vaccination Clinic hosted by Adair County Health Department for 65 and older February 17, 2021 at the First Christian Church in Stilwell (Across from Dollar General) from 9 am to 3 pm. Call Adair County Health Department at 918 696 7292 to schedule appointments.

RMS Parents... Due to possibility of hazardous driving conditions, and slick conditions on school grounds, RMS students will all be in distance learning tomorrow, Thursday, February 11th. Students should log in and complete assignments posted by their teachers. Remember, Friday Feb 12th and Monday, Feb 15th we are out for Winter Break. Everyone stay safe.

Just received another update that CN will be releasing a press release on their FB page later today. They are actually still working on finishing Phase 2A, and will be ready to move to Phase 2B very soon. Continue to watch their FB page for the latest information. Rocky Mountain School certainly appreciates the diligence of the Cherokee Nation in getting our citizens vaccinated.

RMS Parents..... As of right now, road conditions are good. However, all weather reports indicate that if the forecast is correct, road conditions will become dangerous in the morning about the time everyone would need to be in the roads. As an extra precaution, and do parents can better prepare, RMS will transition to distance learning tomorrow. Teachers sent tablets and instructions with younger children and older children will have regular lessons posted on google classroom. (Tell the kids, we will save a snow day for a day that we actually have snow snd they can enjoy!) Stay safe snd warm.
